Theater Donauwörth e.V. founded an open-air stage in Donauwörth back in 1987. It was named after the Mangoldfelsen, a rugged rock that formed the backdrop. For the first 20 years from 1987, the open-air theater played in the courtyard of the Mangold School in Donauwörth in Spindeltal.
