Since 1949, amateurs have been performing on the romantic “Alte Bastei” open-air stage, which is part of the Nördlingen town wall. Within these historic walls, classical plays, popular theater, musicals, children’s and youth plays and, time and again, plays from the history of Nördlingen and Ries are on the program. Since the association was founded in 1924, it has set itself the goal of preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the former free imperial city of Nördlingen and preserving the historic townscape of Nördlingen.
