The Romanesque church, predecessor of today’s three-naved Gothic basilica, was built and extended in 1383/4. A late Gothic canopy in front of the main portal, as well as a choir bay, belonging to the chapel in the tower, are pointers to its existence. The tombs of the Counts of Wertheim (15th – 18th century) can be found in the large chancel, Copyright: Spessart-Mainland / TOURISMUS REGION WERTHEIM GmbH / Holger Leue
